The University of Warsaw was established in 1816. It’s the best and the largest university in Poland. The high standards of the teaching staff and the students contribute to many achievements in Poland and abroad.
Thanks to the excellent scientific and research base, the University offers 39 degree courses and more than 100 specialization courses in the humanities, exact sciences and natural sciences.
Our main purpose while working on the project was to create the main website for the University, which has a user friendly front-end while remaining simple for the editing team to manage.
Our task was also to create and implement a micro site dedicated to the jubilee of 200th anniversary of the University and to design the brand book and all of the promotional materials.
At the beginning of the creative process, we conducted research and workshops with the University’s staff. By analysing the results, we designed low fidelity wireframes, high fidelity designs and a functional specification for the new website.
A clear-cut graphic layout and a broad range of the functionalities satisfied our client. What’s more, its usability improvements were highlighted during the user feedback. The website was implemented responsively, using a WordPress Content Management System.
On the website we implemented such functionalities as: a staff database, a complex event calendar, advanced content search, an interactive time-line presenting University’s historic events and optimisation for disabled users (WCAG 2.0).
Our partnership with the University of Warsaw resulted in designing and implementing an innovative website.
The technical solutions and functionalities used on the website improved the communication, strengthened the informative function and perfectly fitted the marketing strategy of the University. The adapted information architecture positively effected the connivance and intuitiveness of the website navigation for users.
